Network Installation
Workstation Installation
IMPORTANT: The network server’s shared folder should have read, write, modify, and execute permissions for the users.
- On the workstation, perform the Single-User (Stand-Alone) Installation listed above.
- Launch the program and log in using your MyCFS email address and CFS customer ID.
- Go to the Tools > Options > General menu option and change the Application Mode from Single User to Network.
Note: If a network license has not been purchased, the program will be fixed to the Single User mode.
- TaxTools WorkShop uses a folder named "Tt" to store data files and other program files on the network. Other network workstations may also connect to the folder or the mapped drive containing this "Tt" folder so program data can be shared among users.
- If a "Tt" (for TaxTools WorkShop) folder has not yet been created on the network: Select [Create a new database] at the top and browse to then select a location on a mapped network drive to create a new "Tt" folder in.
- If a "Tt" (for TaxTools WorkShop) folder already exists on the network: Browse to then select the "Tt" folder's location on a mapped network drive.
- After the network path has been set, the program will close. Restart the program to begin using the software.
- Repeat steps 1-5 for any additional workstations that need access to the program on the network.
For the vast majority of network installations the Workstation Installation procedure listed above is all that is needed to allow multiple network computers to share the program data on a mapped network drive.
If the program files are required to be installed too then shared from the network server's C: drive, follow the installation instructions given here.
